Sourced from one of the finest vineyards in the central strip of Coonawarra, this wine is grown on the region’s iconic terra rossa soils and managed under dry-grown conditions. These free-draining red soils over limestone, combined with naturally low yields, produce fruit of exceptional concentration, structure, and site expression. The 2022 vintage in Coonawarra is widely regarded as outstanding, defined by a long, even growing season with mild conditions that allowed for slow ripening, excellent flavour development, and refined tannin maturity.

The bouquet is deeply layered, revealing classic cassis, blackberry, and dark plum, seamlessly integrated with notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, cocoa, and cigar box from 24 months maturation in 100% new American oak. Subtle hints of mint and graphite provide lift and unmistakable regional character.

Full-bodied and authoritative, the palate shows impressive depth and precision. Dense black fruit is framed by firm, finely grained tannins, balanced by freshness and structure. The oak is bold yet harmoniously integrated, contributing richness and texture without overwhelming the fruit core. The finish is long, composed, and persistent, carrying both fruit intensity and savoury complexity.
