2019 Speakeasy Riesling

SPEAKEASY Riesling is a stylish, elegant example of a full flavoured, cool climate wine showing the true expression of the Adelaide Hills region.

Variety: 100% Riesling

Vineyard: Fruit sourced from the Forrest Range area.

Vintage Conditions: Vintage 2019 provided generally good growing conditions for the Adelaide Hills, with three notable events: the coldest September on record, the wettest November since 2005 and a mini heat wave on the cusp of January/February that the Adelaide Hills rode out extremely well due to good canopy cover.

Vinification: Hand-picked in the early morning to retain natural acidity, the fruit was de-stemmed and pressed to stainless steels tanks and inoculated with several different yeast strains sourced from the Rhine and Alsace regions. After final blending of the parcels was complete, light clarification and filtration were done before the bottling

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Vibrant pale straw with a green hue.

Aroma: Vibrant and elegant, displaying lifted floral notes, lemon zest, Tahitian lime and light musk.

Palate: Abundant fruit generosity and a lovely texture combine with a smooth river stone minerality to create a seamless wine of style and poise with a generous palate and harmonious balance.
